This was a damn cold day. We made our way along the North shore of Lake Ontario, and be the time we arrived at the Welland Canal there was a good 1 1/2 inches of hore frost covering the tug. BRRRRRR. Posted by Hello

Weather Jet Steam - July 2004


This is what I am now calling a jet-stream. This photo was taken off the Coast of Labrador, (about half way up) just as the dayglow starting in the morning. The prevailing winds of the time were NW@20-25k. As the tug entered between the two strings of clouds the wind rose abruptly to around 40-45k from the SW (90 degree shift). The wind shifted back to normal after we had passed under the second string of clouds (approx. 2 nautical miles). Also as an added note: The two clouds seen here clearly, could not be seen an hour later, when the sun was breaking the horizon. They ran from one horizon to the other. Posted by Hello
